
Dimitris E. Paraskevas has been living a life serving the principles of offering to the community. In financing a series of charity programs and cultural / educational Projects over the years, he has been continuing the legacy of his father, who was widely referred to as the “Dean of Greek Lawyers”.
Paraskevas group has, amongst other:

Pledged a donation to the Municipality of Kifissia, Greece, for the reconstruction of a square with important archaeological findings and a monument for the resistance during World War II (2017)

Pledged a donation for the Intensive Care Unit of the Evaggelismos Hospital, Athens (the largest hospital in the Balkans) and launched a scholarship for research in hospital infections (2017)

Undertaken, in succession of the National Bank of Greece, the continued sponsorship of the Runciman Award – the prestigious annual award of the Anglo-Hellenic League given for the best English-language book about Greece or the Hellenic culture (2017)

Sponsored the celebrated Ai Wei Wei Exhibition at the Museum of Cycladic Art (2016)

Made a series of donations in support of various recipients with an active contribution to the community, e.g. recently a donation of office equipment to a police station in central Athens or monetary donation to the House of the Actor (2016)

Sponsored the participation of the Athens Law School in the ELSA Moot Court Competition on World Trade Organisation Law - EMC2 in Geneva (2013)

Supported a major retrospective exhibition of the work of celebrated modern Greek sculptor Costas Coulentianos organized by the Benaki Museum that included several pieces from the Paraskevas family Art Collection (2012)

Organised two concerts in memory of his father at the Athens Concert Hall raising funds for the Thorax Foundation (Evaggelismos Hospital, Athens, the largest hospital in the Balkans), which had been co-founded by his father and Nobel laureate Odysseas Elytis (2011)

Participated as junior partner with the British Government, the Australian Government, Qantas and Rio Tinto in funding the Charlie Perkins scholarship program enabling the first Australian Aboriginals or Torres Straits Islanders to study at the University of Oxford (2010)

Donated a floor (named “Elias Paraskevas” floor after his father) in the new academic building of the London School of Economics and Political Science, inaugurated by HM Queen Elizabeth II (2008)
